I moved to Malta in 2014 after spending a short time in London working as a Fashion Advisor. Upon arrival in Malta, I was trusted with several upstanding jobs which I took as opportunities to continue learning and growing. Such jobs included roles in Business Development, Business Intelligence, Sales, Marketing and Branding. It took me five years to climb up the ladder career to where I always aimed for.
Background
My name is Diana Gyurcso and I’m in love with languages. I started learning foreign languages from the age of 5 - beginning with German, then following with English, French and Italian. At the moment I speak fluent Hungarian as a mother tongue, English, Italian and soon French.
At the same age of 5, I started to practise modelling and won a couple of national competitions starting age 7. Apart from that, I loved dancing, especially rock ’n’ roll, jazz ballet, hip-hop, videoclip dance, ballet and latin which also brought me the success of several national contests.
Moving forward, I studied at Oxford Brooks University and finished with second class honours - graduating as an economist (Bachelor Degree) specialising in HR and Marketing. Furthermore, I was certified in Marketing Communications from New York’s IAA - The International Advertising Association.
Beauty Background
The experience began whilst I was the Bran Manager of several international beauty brands such as Calvin Klein, Chloé, Burberry, Marc Jacobs, Roberto Cavalli, Davidoff and Lancaster. There I realised how much I love working in the beauty industry however I found it to be too impersonal. In these kinds of companies and brands, the business and money are the main focus and they don’t really tend to focus on the individual customer and his or her needs. These businesses try to be the leader in the market and persuade clients to buy their products in every way possible. I believe that in reality a beauty brand should be more personal and keep in mind what the individual customer wants. I believe that the brand should not dictate and influence people to buy but individuals should express first their needs and wants and brands should find a way to give it to them.
Moreover, I never liked the fact that big beauty brands test their products on animals and make cruel experiments together with using chemical ingredients just to deliver the expected results even if that would destroy the creature’s skin. That is when I decided to create my own brand which will not only use many natural ingredients and will never test on animals but will also follow the needs and wants of the targeted group of customers. Moreover, today we are full of expectations (especially women) - what we should look like, what should we dress, behave, think, act, and being different (for example overweight, underweight, shier, stronger, working as a leader, having skin problems, etc.) makes women a target for society to continuously judge and call out names. I am strongly against these stereotypes and I would like to give the opportunity to all women to feel self-confident, motivated, strong, passionate, feminine and seductive.
My Personal Experience
When I was a kid I had problems with self-confidence. I was not following the crowd: I was learning languages from very small age, I was on stage from age 5 as I was model, I was taking dancing classes and singing classes, I was taking part in many competitions, I was taking the most strict schools to make sure I get outstanding scholastic knowledge, etc. All these made me stand out of the crowd and because of that it was hard sometimes to integrate with others. Many times I felt lonely and different from others and because of that I have been excluded from friend circles which made me lose my self-confidence and started to be introverted. This experience made my childhood uncomfortable. When I started university I realised that I don’t want to live this kind of lifestyle any more - I would like to be free, express myself without feeling guilty of not being like others. From that time I started to gain back my self-confidence and I also committed myself to improve my soft skills and personality gradually. My number one aim was to develop my character, to always be a better person with a better attitude meanwhile having full control of my life and gaining back my self-confidence.
Today, thanks to my personal and professional experience, I am a very positive and optimistic person who is very open-minded for growth, who always wants the best for others, who tries to help wherever she can, who is full of energy and enthusiasm and who has clear goals for the future. Moreover I am a very proud dog mummy and my family is very important for me.
